    Investment Thesis

Investing in the future of African sports.

A detailed look at our investment philosophy, where we deploy capital, and why we believe African sports is the most compelling long-term opportunity in the global sports economy.

    01

    The Opportunity

Africa is the last major untapped sports market.

Africa is home to 1.4 billion people, with a median age of 19. It is the youngest and fastest-growing continent on earth, and sports, particularly football, is its most powerful cultural currency. Yet the commercial infrastructure around African sports remains underdeveloped, fragmented, and under-capitalised.

The global sports industry generates over $500 billion annually, but Africa captures a fraction of that despite producing a disproportionate share of the world's elite athletes. This gap between raw talent output and commercial value capture is the core opportunity ProSeed exists to address.

We believe the next decade will see a structural shift in how African sports assets are valued, governed, and monetised, driven by digital distribution, diaspora engagement, and a new generation of institutional investors entering the space.

    02

    Our Thesis

Own the IP layer, not just the talent.

Most capital flows into African sports follow a familiar pattern: sponsor a tournament, sign an athlete, or fund a one-off event. These are transactional, short-term, and leave no lasting infrastructure. ProSeed takes a fundamentally different approach.

We invest in the structures that create, develop, and monetise sports IP, the clubs that develop players, the media platforms that tell their stories, the agencies that manage their careers, and the technology that connects it all. We are building a vertically integrated sports venture platform.

Our thesis is built on a simple conviction: the most valuable sports assets in Africa have not yet been built. By entering at the ground floor, with operational conviction and patient capital, we can structure ownership positions in what will become category-defining franchises.

    03

    Investment Pillars

Four pillars that define where we deploy capital.

Club Ownership: We acquire and develop football clubs with a focus on youth pathways, governance, and long-term brand building. Our model combines on-pitch performance with off-pitch commercial infrastructure.

Media and Content: We invest in platforms and agencies that control the narrative around African sports. From documentary storytelling to digital-first media brands, we back the content layer that drives fan engagement and commercial value.

Talent Management: We partner with agencies that represent the next generation of African sports and entertainment talent, helping them build sustainable careers while retaining IP ownership and commercial upside.

Infrastructure and Technology: We back the enabling platforms, from scouting technology to fan engagement tools, that make the broader ecosystem more efficient, connected, and commercially viable.

    04

    Our Edge

    Operational conviction, not just capital.

ProSeed is not a passive fund. We are operators, builders, and ecosystem participants. Our team brings direct experience in sports management, media production, venture capital, and African market development.

We work alongside our portfolio companies, embedding ourselves in governance, strategy, and execution. This hands-on approach gives us asymmetric insight into deal flow, talent pipelines, and emerging opportunities that traditional investors cannot access.

Our network spans Africa, Europe, and North America, connecting local operators with global capital, distribution, and expertise. This bridge function is core to our value proposition and difficult to replicate.

    05

    The Horizon

    Building for decades, not quarters.

Sports assets compound in value over time. The most valuable franchises in the world, whether in the Premier League, NBA, or IPL, were built over decades of sustained investment, governance, and brand development.

We take a medium to long-term view on our investments, prioritising sustainable value creation over short-term returns. This long-term orientation allows us to make decisions that compound, to invest in youth development pipelines that take years to mature, to build media brands that grow audiences over time, and to develop governance structures that attract institutional capital.

The African sports economy is at an inflection point. The question is not whether it will grow, but who will own the assets that capture that growth. ProSeed exists to ensure that ownership is structured, intentional, and built to last.
